Compete in Clay Sports at MAC!
At Mount Aloysius College, we encourage our students to get involved in sports and activities they love. The MAC Clay Target Team is one of the many options available to get involved on-campus, and Mount Aloysius College is one of the only colleges in Pennsylvania to have a clay sports team. Each week, members of the team shoot 50 skeet and 50 trap targets, and then scores are emailed to the league for ranking.
The MAC Clay Target Team participates in the USA College Clay Target League, which is comprised of teams from colleges and universities all over the United States.
There is no cost for current students to be a member of the team. All targets and shells are supplied by the college. Students that are recruited to be a member of the team can receive a $1,000 scholarship above any financial package they have been offered by the College.
Students use the school’s guns or bring their own.
The team shoots skeet at Generations Skeet Club and trap at the Patton Sportsmen Club. They compete Sundays at 1:00 pm.
Safety. Fun. Marksmanship – In That Order.
Safety is of primary importance to the college and team. Student athletes are instructed on proper gun safety and shooting etiquette. The League’s motto is safety, fun, marksmanship – in that order. We want all student athletes to be safe, have fun, and become better at shooting.
Students must strictly adhere to the college policy of gun use. A secure gun room is located on the ground level of the ACWC for the storage of team guns. The College has Browning BT99s and Citori over and under shotguns for team members use.
