Experience College as an NICC Student Athlete.
The Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) Sports Shooting team competed in its first meet in fall 2015. Since that inaugural year, interest in the team continues to grow, with men and women athletes competing among the very best in Iowa. Individual athletes have won state and regional honors for their skills and shooting prowess.
Students from the College’s two campuses in Calmar and Peosta compete as one team and hold practices at trap shoot locations near their campus, the Turkey Valley Trap Range in Jackson Junction near Calmar and the Izaak Walton Range in Peosta.
NICC is a member of intercollegiate sanctioning organization, the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) and Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP).
Beginning fall 2022 NICC launched a competitive Esports (video gaming) team which is part of the National Junior College Athletic Association of Esports. NICC students compete against more than 160 junior colleges across the nation, and students can compete in one of two state-of-the-art arenas located at our Calmar and Peosta campuses.
