Overview

The USA Clay Target League (League) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The League is the independent provider of clay target shooting sports for secondary and postsecondary schools. The League’s priorities are safety, fun, and marksmanship – in that order. As a national organization, much of our work and communication with our constituents occurs online. Because of this, it is important for the League to maintain the trust of both youth and adult participants by ensuring the privacy of our youngest constituents. While it is necessary for the League to collect information for certain online initiatives (www.claytargetscoring.com), we intend to only use the information for the stated purpose on each website. The League will never sell or share any personally identifiable information with any third party.

Application and User Security

User data in our database is accessible only through unique username and password login. No direct public access to our database is available. Users choose and are subject to login ID and password rules to minimize the chance of an unauthorized user gaining access. A session cookie is issued only to record encrypted authentication information for the duration of a specific session. The session cookie does not include the password of the user. Session cookies are destroyed once the user logs out of the system.

The League provides protection against users accidentally leaving personal information active on a computer browser screen. The application ends a user “session” if users are logged in but have not actively used the service for a set period of time. This helps prevent others from accessing users’ accounts when users leave a session and forget to log out.

Online Payments

All transactions containing sensitive data are transmitted using SSL/TSL connections. Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) technology protect communications by using both server authentication and data encryption. This ensures that user data in transit is safe, secure, and available only to intended recipients. The League utilizes 3rd party trusted payment processors for capturing sensitive credit card data, including PayPal and eProcessing Network. These payment processors follow strict PCI Compliance guidelines to ensure that all data is secure and encrypted. No credit card information is stored in the League database.
