Williston State College

Welcome to Williston State College…’Teton Country’!

It is truly my honor to have been selected as the next President of Williston State College.

Williston is located in northwestern North Dakota, along the Missouri River. The college was founded in 1961, as ‘UND-Williston,’ a branch of the University of North Dakota, and transitioned to Williston State College in 1999. In doing so, the College added Workforce Training as a complement to its general, vocational, and technical education programs. WSC is part of the North Dakota University System.

Williston State College’s six sports teams are a member of the highly competitive MonDak Conference, consisting of colleges from North Dakota and Montana. Teton teams recruit student-athletes locally, nationally, and internationally, and have won numerous conference titles, advancing to National NJCAA Tournaments.

The College’s motto is ‘Where the People Make the Difference’ and is proudly modeled daily by its faculty and staff. If you have never been on the WSC Campus, or if it’s been many years since you’ve visited, please allow me to extend an invitation for a visit and campus tour from one of our Student Ambassadors. The campus has been transformed into new and newly remodeled facilities, plus academic offerings that reflect the rapidly changing needs of the region, state, and country. Once you visit the pristinely beautiful campus, and meet the faculty and staff, you’ll want to become a Teton!

To inquire about the College or schedule a visit, call 701-774-4200. When you visit the campus, ask your tour guide to swing by the Office of the President to say ‘Hello!’. We hope to see you soon!

Respectfully,
Dr. Bernell Hirning
President, Williston State College
